Asian Nations Lag Behind on Adding Women to Boardrooms

Singapore may have a sitting female president but the nation lags behind its global peers when it comes to the number of women holding board seats. With female representation at 10.3 percent, the country is placed third from the bottom — only Thailand and Japan are ranked lower — among major markets, according to a joint report by the Human Capital Leadership Institute and BoardAgender. That hasn’t stopped Singapore from pressing ahead with its goal to reach 20 percent women directorships by 2020.
